St. Scholastica to Join Women's League
Saint Paul, Minn. (April 23, 2009) –
The Chief Executive Officers of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association member institutions have reviewed the College of St. Scholastica’s application for admission to the Women’s Division and have voted unanimously to admit the Duluth, Minnesota school.  The Saints will begin conference play in the 2010-11 season. Marian Hires Cowan as First Head Coach

Grossmann Named Player of the Year, Women's All-NCHA Announced

UW-River Falls' Cranston Named Coach of the Year
Saint Paul, Minn. (February 26, 2009)  – UW-Stevens Point senior forward Nicole Grossmann (Lindstrom, Minn. / Chisago Lakes), having been named to the All-NCHA team her previous three seasons, added a fourth All-NCHA selection today, plus something she hadn’t yet won: Women’s Player of the Year.

Hansberry, Nespor Win 2009 Scholar-Athlete Awards
Saint Paul, Minn. (February 26, 2009) - Derke Hansberry of UW-River Falls ad Rikki Nespor of UW-Superior have been named the 2009 Men's and Women's Scholar-Athlete Award winners, respectively.

Nordness, Kohuch named players of the week

Saint Paul, Minn. (February 10, 2009) - UW-River Falls' freshman forward Emma Nordness (Excelsior, Minn. / Benilde-St. Margaret's) and Lake Forest senior goalie Brandon Kohuch (Windosr, ON / Chatham) have been named player of the week in their respective divisions. Nordness bagged a hat trick against Concordia-Wisconsin while Kohuch recorded a 53-save shutout against UW-River Falls.

UW-Stout's Nick Klaren up for trip to Frozen Four Skills Challenge
Saint Paul, Minn. (February 5, 2009) - Senior forward Nick Klaren (North St. Paul, Minn. / Witchita Falls, NAHL) of UW-Stout is among 68 candidates for selection to the 2009 Frozen Four Skills Challenge April 10 in Washington, D.C. Klaren is the only remaining player from Division III hockey to represent the West team. Vote for Nick by clicking here. Voting ends at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 18.


Holland, Ritter named players of the week
Saint Paul, Minn. (February 3, 2009) - Junior forward Jodi Holland (Rochester, Minn. / North Dakota, WCHA) of UW-Superior and junior goaltender Stephen Ritter (Tenefly, NJ / Texas, NAHL) of UW-River Falls have been named player of the week in their respective divisions. Holland scored five goals, including a pure hat trick, while Ritter lead the Falcons to a pair of one-goal wins and a move up in the standings.

Adrian College joins NCHA women's conference
Saint Paul, Minn. (February 2, 2008) – Northern Collegiate Hockey Association  Commissioner Bill Kronschnabel announced today that Adrian College’s application for membership in the NCHA women’s division has been approved by the Chief Executive Officers of the NCHA-member institutions.  Adrian’s women’s team will start play in the league this fall as part of the 2009-10 season. Saint Paul, Minn. (January 20, 2009) - Concordia-Wisconsin freshman forward Hilary Christiansen (Eagan, MN / Eagan) and St. Scholastica senior forward A.J. Tucker (Fort Frances, ON / Waywayseecappo, MJHL) have been named player of the week in the women's and men's divisions, respectively. Christiansen bagged five points in two wins for the Falcons while Tucker scored four goals in a big win over rival UW-Superior.
