Women's Player of the Week: Jordy Klimek
SAINT PAUL (December 13, 2011) -- St. Scholastica sophomore Jordy Klimek (Hastings, Min.. / Hastings) has been selected Player of the Week in the NCHA Women's Conference for the week ending December 12. Klimek scored a game-winning goal and a game-tying goal in a series with visiting Adrian College.
In a rare Sunday-Monday series, Klimek vaulted the Saints ahead 4-3 with just 41 seconds left in regulation time of game one. It was her third goal of the year and was assisted by Malin Zetterberg and Alex Blair.
On Monday Night Hockey, the Saints were down 2-0 in the later parts of the third period when Klimek helped her team up with an assist and a goal. The assist came on an Alana Levido power play goal that made it 2-1 at 13:19. And then at 15:58 Klimek buried her second goal of the weekend, tying the game at 2-2 and stealing a point for the Saints.
The three-point weekend for Kilmek put her in double-digits for points on the season with ten. Her goal and assist on Monday gave her three multi-point games on the year.
The three-point weekend for the Saints shot their point total to 15 and put them in third place in the conference standings.

Salmen's Weekend: UW-Stevens Point sophomore Cassandra Salmen put together a nice weekend against UW-Eau Claire. She scored the game-winner in a 1-0 victory last Friday and posted an assist in a 3-3 tie the next night. The Pointers added three points in the standings and head into the holiday break on a 3-0-1 streak.
Rumble of the Ranks: Tonight it's #9
UW-Superior taking on #6 Gustavus in St. Peter, Minn. The
Yellowjackets are looking to do some resume building with a win
over the Gusties. UW-Superior is led in scoring by Kelsey
Firkus, who has four goals and eight assists on the season.
Shanley Peters and Amy Torgerson have been a stellar combo in goal,
putting up a 1.51 GAA.
