Isaackson's game-winners good for honors
Concordia-Wisconsin forward Alyssa Isaackson
(Marhsall, Minn. / Marshall) has been named Player of the Week in
the NCHA Women's Conference. Isaackson scored three goals
last weekend, two of them game-winning goals, as the Falcons swept
Finlandia.
In a 5-1 win last Friday, Isaackson put CUW up 1-0 at 16:11 of the
first period. After the break, she scored the eventual
game-winner at 2:02 of the second. They were her second and
third goals of the season for the Concordia-Wisconsin goal
leader.
Last Saturday Isaackson broke a scoreless tie midway through the second period. The goal would be the game's only goal as the Falcons edged the Lions 1-0 to finish the sweep and earn four points in the standings.
Allie GOALson: Allie Olson of UW-River Falls scored four times for the #5 Falcons in a pair of victories at St. Scholastica last weekend. They were the first career goals for the freshman from Monticello, Minn.
Goaltending in De Pere: The UW-Eau Claire / St. Norbert series last weekend featured some stellar goaltending as the teams split their series. On Friday it was UWEC's Morgan Pieper making 30 saves in a 3-2 Blugold win and on Saturday it was SNC's Kaley Gibson making 25 stops in a 4-1 victory.
Two-F'er: Adrian became the second NCHA team to
bust into the USCHO.com rankings when the latest poll was
released. The Lady Bulldogs are ranked 10th while UW-River
Falls held at #5. UW-River Falls received a first-place vote
in this week's poll.
